Trains from Hamburg Airport to the city center are a great way to travel when visiting Hamburg. S-Bahn trains on Line 1 travel from the airport to the central station and other destinations in central Hamburg.

The Hamburg Airport train station is on the lower ground level of the airport. It is located between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and you can walk there from either terminal.

There are ticket machines in the station above the escalators. You can buy tickets for trains from Hamburg Airport to the city center with cash or using a credit card. There are instructions posted on the top of each ticket machine, and the screens have an English language option as well.

Train tickets to Hamburg cost 2.80 euros each way. If you plan to ride the S-bahn trains, U-bahn trains, or buses again the same day, a day travel card is available for 5.50 euros.

The travel time on trains from Hamburg Airport to the city center is around 20 minutes. Trains run frequently throughout the day.
