Trains from Naples to Pompeii

Trains from Naples to Pompeii run regularly from the underground platform in Naples Centrale train station in Piazza Garibaldi to Pompeii Scavi train station, which is right in front of the ruins.

Circumvesuviana trains leave Naples Centrale train station for Pompeii Scavi train station regularly at peak times (between 06:00 and 23:00). Trains from Pompeii to Naples return at similar intervals.

The total train time from Naples to Pompeii takes 35 minutes.

The cost of a one-way train ticket from Naples to Pompeii is around 2.00 EUR for standard class. Cheap day return tickets are available if you plan to take a day trip from Naples to Pompeii.

NB: Beware of pickpockets on the train from Naples to Pompeii. The Circumvesuviana train is well known for being a favorite haunt of pickpockets, so watch your belongings carefully.

Trains from Rome airport to the Rome city center run regularly from the Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci airport (FCO) train station to Rome Termini train station. The train from the airport is called the Leonardo Express.

Trains leave Rome Fiumicino airport train station for the Rome Termini train station every 30 minutes throughout the day at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour. The first train departs Rome airport at 06:35 and the last train departs at 23:35.

Trains from the Rome city center to Rome Fiumicino airport run every 30 minutes throughout the day at 22 and 52 minutes past the hour. The first Leonardo Express train departs Rome Termini train station at 05:52 and the last train departs at 22:52.

The total train time on the Leonardo Express train from Rome airport to the Rome city center is 31 minutes.

The cost of a Leonardo Express train ticket is 11.00 EUR. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth or from ticket machines. Make sure to validate your train ticket before traveling.
