Trains from Ravenna to Venice

Trains from Ravenna to Venice are a great way to travel from one of Italy’s best historic cities to one of its most beautiful ones.

Trains depart regularly from Ravenna train station in the Emilia-Romagna region. They arrive at Venice Santa Lucia and Mestre train stations after a connection in either Bologna or Ferrara en route.

There are several types of trains that travel between these cities. Most are regional trains. They are not particularly fast or luxurious, but they are a scenic way to travel and a great alternative to taking a bus or hiring a car in Italy.

There are also InterCity trains between Ferrara and Venice on this route. They are nicer and faster than regional trains, but slightly more expensive. Finally, Eurostar trains serve the Bologna to Venice leg of the journey. They are the nicest and fastest option, but also the most expensive.

Trains from Ravenna to Venice usually depart once or twice an hour at peak times. Departure times vary by hour, but there is normally a train leaving at around 33 and/or 40 minutes past the hour. Trains from Venice to Ravenna run at similar intervals throughout the day.

The total travel time from Venice to Ravenna ranges from 2 hours, 39 minutes to 3 hours, 37 minutes. Usually trains that connect in Ferrara are faster than those that connect in Bologna, but if you want to take the Eurostar, you will need to connect in Bologna.

The cost of a single ticket on trains from Ravenna to Venice is around 15 euros on regional trains. On InterCity trains, tickets cost 18.70 euros for second class and 22.70 euros for first class. On Eurostar trains, they are 35.80 euros for second class and 46.80 euros for first class. You can buy train tickets online in advance or at the station before you travel. If you choose the latter, don’t forget to validate your ticket at the machines on the platform before boarding the train.


Trains from Bologna to Florence

Trains from Bologna to Florence are a great way to travel when you are visiting Italy. Train travel between the two cities is fast, efficient, and cost-effective.

Trains depart Bologna’s main train station and arrive at Florence Santa Maria Novella station (often abbreviated as FI. SMN on timetables). They are direct and require no changes en route.

Trains from Bologna to Florence leave up to four times an hour at peak times throughout the day, so you never have to wait long for a train.

Most trains on this route are high-speed Eurostar trains, but some are slower InterCity trains. The main difference between the two types of trains is that Eurostar trains travel almost twice as fast as InterCity trains, but can be more than twice as expensive. Eurostar trains also run much more frequently than InterCity trains.

Eurostar trains from Bologna take 37 minutes to travel to Florence. A single ticket costs 36 euros for first class and 25 euros for second class. There are around three departures an hour.

InterCity trains to Florence take 1 hour. Single tickets cost 14.50 euros for first class and 10.50 euros for second class. There is a departure every two to three hours.

Tickets for trains from Bologna to Florence can be purchased online in advance or at the station when you arrive in Bologna.


Trains from Bologna to Ravenna

Trains from Bologna to Ravenna are a great way to get between the two nearby cities when you are visiting Italy.

Trains depart from Bologna central train station and arrive at Ravenna station. They are Regional trains, which means that they aren’t necessarily new or fast, but they will get you from one city to the other in relative comfort and at a decent speed.

Direct trains from Bologna to Ravenna depart once an hour. Most departures take place at 06 minutes past the hour. The last departure of the day is usually at 22:06.

The travel time on this route is 1 hour and 21 minutes, making the journey relatively quick and easy.

Tickets for trains from Bologna to Ravenna are cheap, and cost around 5 euros. They can be purchased at the Bologna train station prior to departure.
