Trains from Madrid to London

If you don not plan to take a flight from Madrid to London, taking the train is the best way to get from Madrid to London.

To take a train from Madrid to London, first take a train from Madrid to Paris.

After you arrive in Paris, take the Eurostar from Paris to London.

Note that trains from Madrid to Paris arrive at Paris Gare d’Austerlitz, while trains from Paris to London depart from Paris Gare du Nord.

Make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to take the Paris metro Line 5, or a taxi or bus between the two stations.

Also keep in mind that the Eurostar in Paris requires you to check in at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

Give yourself extra time for the check-in, security, and passport control process, and book a long connection in Paris.

Trains from Barcelona to Paris

Taking the train is one of the best ways to get from Barcelona to Paris.

The Elipsos trainhotel is an overnight train from Barcelona to Paris. It is a comfortable way to get between the two cities.

The Elipsos trainhotel leaves from Barcelona Franca train station every day at 9:05pm, and arrives at Paris Gare d’Austerlitz the next morning at 9:01am.

The total train travel time from Barcelona to Paris is 11h56m.

The Elipsos trainhotel has three classes of ticket you can purchase. The first is a basic couchette in a four bed sleeper room that costs around 75 euros one way. You can make use of the restaurant and cafe in the evening and again in the morning before you arrive in Paris.

The second is the Preferente class seat on trains from Barcelona to Paris. These tickets include couchettes in two bed sleeper rooms with sinks. They are a bit nicer than the standard class tickets, and they cost around 115 euros one way.

If you want something more luxurious, you can book a Gran Clase train ticket on the trainhotel from Barcelona to Paris. The Gran Clase ticket includes a two bed room with an ensuite bathroom and shower. It also includes dinner with drinks and breakfast. The ticket costs around 235 euros one way.

The total train journey from Madrid to Paris takes 13h31m.

The Elipsos trainhotel has three classes of seat to choose from. There are basic couchettes in four bed sleeper rooms that cost around 75 euros one way. You can enjoy the restaurant and cafe in the evening and before the train arrives in Paris in the morning.

There are also Preferente class seats on trains from Madrid to Paris, which consist of two bed sleeper rooms with sinks. They are a step up from the standard class tickets, and they cost around 115 euros for a one way ticket.

If you want something more upscale, you can book a Gran Clase train ticket on the trainhotel from Madrid to Paris. The Gran Clase train ticket includes a two bed room with an ensuite bathroom and shower, as well as dinner and breakfast. A one way Gran Clase ticket costs around 235 euros.
