Eurostar have just announced a new service that will offer direct trains from London to Aix-en-Provence and other cities in southern France.

The trains from the UK capital will run to three cities: Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, and Avignon. Services will start in the spring of 2013 following the success of Eurostar’s direct train service from London to Avignon, which operates weekly throughout the summer months.

The trains will depart from St Pancras train station every Saturday between 4 May and 29 June 2013. Services will leave London at 7:17 and arrive at the Aix-en-Provence TGV station at 14:34. The journey time will be 6 hours and 17 minutes.

Outbound journeys on trains from London to Aix-en-Provence will be direct, while inbound services will require a change in Lille. Passengers will be able to clear passport control and customs there before travelling back to the UK.

Fares to Aix are £109 return in Standard class and £249 return in Standard Premier.
