Eurostar have a new service that offers direct trains from London to Aix-en-Provence and other cities in southern France.
The trains from the UK capital run to three cities: Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, and Avignon. Services started in the spring of 2013 following the success of Eurostar’s direct train service from London to Avignon, which operates weekly throughout the summer months.
The trains depart from St Pancras station every Saturday between early May and late June (2014 schedule TBA). Services leave London at around 7:15 and arrive at the Aix-en-Provence TGV station at around 14:30. The journey time is approximately 6 hours and 15 minutes.
Outbound journeys on trains from London to Aix-en-Provence are direct, while inbound services require a quick change in Lille. Passengers are able to clear passport control and customs there before travelling back to the UK.
Fares to Aix-en-Provence are around £109 return in Standard class and £249 return in Standard Premier (exact fares for 2014 TBA).
