The new BA First seats that originally launched in one British Airways plane in February 2010 are making their way into more and more of BA’s 777s. Below are photos of the new BA first seats and cabins.

New BA First Class Cabins

Inspired by classic British luxury cars like Jaguar and Aston Martin, the new British Airways First class seats–suites, as they’re called–and cabins feature a number of new elements.

These include larger windows with electronic window shades, seat-side coat racks, more outlets for charging electronics in-flight, bigger television screens, and leather-bound tables.

The new BA First seats fully recline into a flat bed for sleeping. The seats offer a 60% increase in shoulder room from the old BA First seats.

The entertainment systems on the new BA First class seats are higher quality than the old ones, and come with brochures to teach passengers how to use them.

New BA First Class

Currently around 5 of the 20 British Airways 777 airplanes and two of the 747 airplanes have been refitted with the new BA First seats and cabins. One 777 airplane has new BA World Traveller and World Traveller Plus seats as well.

The plan is for British Airways to roll out the new BA First seats to all of their larger planes over a two year time period.
