Visiting Norfolk England
Norfolk is one of England's many beautiful regions. Located just two hours northeast of London, Norfolk makes for an easy weekend trip from the UK capital.
Norfolk is known for its flat, open land and maze-like system of waterways called the Norfolk Broads. Small towns with old churches dot the landscape and make for beautiful scenery. Beaches and stately homes--including the queen's Sandringham--round out the landscape.
Getting to and around Norfolk is best done by car, as there are lots of small towns to visit and train and bus transport can be cumbersome.
Hotels and B&Bs are plentiful in Norfolk, and the culinary scene boasts of some great Norfolk restaurants.
Norfolk gets busy in the summer months when people flock to the area to rent boats on the Norfolk Broads, but spring and fall are also beautiful, and the small villages make the area a cozy and beautiful escape in the winter months.

Stonehenge Tours
While it's possible to visit Stonehenge on your own, there are some great companies that offer Stonehenge tours. Here are two of my favorite Stonehenge tour companies:
Mad Max Tours of Stonehenge
Mad Max Tours of Stonehenge take visitors from Bath to Stonehenge for tours of the historic sites in the area. Family run Max Max Tours picks up visitors near Bath Abbey in small buses and give friendly, informative day tours that cover Stonehenge and Avebury as well as the village of Castle Combe in the Cotswolds and the National Trust's Lacock Village.
Full day tours are 27.50 GBP. They also offer half day tours of Stonehenge and Lacock Village for 15.00 GBP.

Vics Taxi Tours of Stonehenge
Vics Taxi Tours of Stonehenge are private tours that take visitors from Salisbury to Stonehenge. Vic, a retired RAF gentleman who has lived in the Salisbury area for years, knows the area thoroughly and has wonderful stories to entertain visitors while driving to Stonehenge.
Stonehenge tours last 2 hours and cost 40.00 GBP. Vics Taxi Tours can also arrange a private access to Stonehenge tour for 15.00 GBP/person, 20.00 GBP for 2-4 people, 3.00 GBP for each additional person over 4 people. Custom tours are available upon request.

Bourton on the Water England
Bourton-on-the-Water is a town in the Cotswolds. Easily accessible by car or on foot from Lower Slaughter, Burford-on-the-Water is a great town to visit on a day trip through the Cotswolds.
Park your car in the large car park on the edge of Bourton-on-the-Water (~2GBP/hr) and walk around the high street along the river. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you entertained.
Bourton-on-the-Water has no shortage of activities, from Birdland Park and Gardens to the Model Village (a 1/9 miniature replica of Bourton-on-the-Water), the old church, and of course the beautiful stone houses and buildings that the Cotswolds are famous for.
Bourton-on-the-Water gets very crowded during summer days, so try to plan your visit early in the morning or in the late afternoon or evening to avoid the crowds.

Burford England
Burford is one of the larger towns in the Cotswolds. Close to Oxford and one of the first large towns on the way from London, Burford makes for an ideal place to stop for lunch on a trip to the Cotswolds.
Burford's high street has no shortage of places to eat and shop. Try the Chef's Own Beef Lasagne at The Mermaid (10 GBP), or the Ploughman's Lunch at Huffkins (take home some of their delicious chutneys or home-made breads too!), or wander along the high street to one of the many other pubs and restaurants.
Not to be missed is the church with its tall spire that can be seen throughout Burford. Spend some time walking down the side streets to admire the old stone architecture and beautiful houses in Burford.

Bibury England
Bibury is a town in the Cotswolds. Easily accessible by car and one of the most visited and well-known towns in the area, Bibury is a great place to visit on a day trip through the Cotswolds.
Wander around the village, making sure to visit the famous Arlington Row, said to be the most photographed street in England. Don't miss the Arlington Mill and the trout farm (see if you can spot some trout swimming in the river by Arlington Row!).
Once you've seen the main attractions, stop by the beautiful church just steps away from Arlington Row and stop for a pint at the Catherine Wheel, a 15th century inn and pub.

Upper Slaughter England
Upper Slaughter is a town in the Cotswolds. Easily accessible by car or on foot from Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter is a great town to visit on a day trip through the Cotswolds.
Walk around the village, and along the stream (watch out if you're driving; there's a section of the stream that you may have to drive through). Peer out onto the stunning Lords of the Manor Country House Hotel, and continue on your way through town.
Make sure to walk up to the church in Upper Slaughter and admire the beautiful stone houses around it.

Lower Slaughter England
Lower Slaughter is a town in the Cotswolds. Easily accessible by car or on foot from Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter is a great town to visit on a day trip through the Cotswolds.
Wander around the village, crossing the stream that runs through the heart of town. Stop by the chichi Relais & Chateaux Lower Slaughter Manor for an outdoor lunch or tea break in the garden, and continue on your way through town.
Make sure to visit the Old Mill in Lower Slaughter, where there is a small museum, gift shop and store selling home-made ice cream. Continue from there on the trail to Upper Slaughter, a short walk away.

Cotswolds Day Trip from London
The Cotswolds are arguably one of the most beautiful areas of England, and they make a great day trip from London or Oxford.
Located in the west of England near Wales, the Cotswolds span a wide area from Oxford in the east to Bath in the south. Visiting the Cotswolds is best done by car, as train service is limited and buses run infrequently (especially to the smaller and most beautiful towns and villages).
The Cotswolds are best known for their old stone houses, rolling green landscape and lovely gardens. The best time to visit the Cotswolds is in the late spring when the flowers are in full bloom.
The best towns to visit in the Cotswolds include Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Burford, Bourton on the Water and Bibury.
