Spending New Year’s Eve in Salzburg is a great way to ring in the new year while you are visiting Austria. From concerts to fireworks, the city comes alive on December 31st.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon there is a traditional gun salute by the Christmas Marksmen, Pillory Marksmen, and Civic Guard. During this time, music plays and lights shine to get the crowds in the New Year’s spirit.<\/p>\n

Throughout the evening there are many more events for New Year’s Eve in Salzburg. Mozart fans can enjoy concerts and performances in the musician’s hometown, and foodies can go to a special New Year’s dinner at Stiftskeller St. Peter, which is the oldest restaurant in Europe.<\/p>\n

There is also a large tent in the Volksgarten that features live entertainment, as well as a stage in Residenz Square where concerts are performed well into the night.<\/p>\n

At midnight, there are fireworks for New Year’s Eve in Salzburg. They light up the beautiful skyline, illuminating everything from the castle to the church spires. While they burst overhead, church bells ring and walz music plays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
