The Romantic Road in Germany refers to a stretch of picturesque road in the German countryside that runs through beautiful towns and villages from Wurzburg in the north to Fussen in the south (map here).
The Romantic Road includes famous towns such as the picture-perfect Dinkelsbuhl, castles such as the famous Neuschwanstein castle, and stretches of countryside dotted with beautiful flowers and a stunning Bavairan mountain backdrop.
There are signs posted along the Romantic Road to help you get from town to town, but a good map is recommended, as not all directions are clearly marked.
The Romantic Road can be done in a day, but allow at least two or three days if you want to see everything the road has to offer. There are a number of good hotels along the way, so you can enjoy your journey in comfort.
