Bochum Christmas Market dates: late November to late December from 12:00 to 21:00 daily (closed 24 November, 1 December hours: 13:00 to 18:00)
The annual Bochum Christmas Market is one of the biggest celebrations of the year in the city, and is a great way to get in the festive spirit while you are visiting Germany.
Bochum’s market is home to 180 Christmas market stalls selling all of the traditional crafts that German Christmas markets are known for. Additionally, the market offers a variety of German food and hot mulled wine.
Bochum’s Christmas market features a high-wire show daily at 17:00 and 19:00 right in the middle of the market square. Additionally, Santa soars above the square on his sleigh and greets children from the stage in the market each day.
The market is located by the Paulus church in the Bochum city center (address: Bochum City, Dr.-Ruer-Platz, 44787 Bochum, Germany).
Bochum is easily reached by train from Dusseldorf, so the Bochum Christmas Market makes a great day trip. There are also trains to Bochum from Aachen, Cologne, Essen, and other German cities.
