Oktoberfest 2015 dates: 19 September to 4 October 2015
Oktoberfest is an annual celebration that takes place every year in Theresienwiesen park in Munich, Germany. Contrary to what the name suggests, Oktoberfest takes place mostly in September, with only the last part of Oktoberfest occurring in October. Oktoberfest is best known for its many tents, which are filled with people drinking Bavarian beer from giant 1-litre glasses. Oktoberfest is also known for its big carnival with rides and games.
Getting tickets for Oktoberfest tents is difficult, but it isn’t necessary to have Oktoberfest tickets or a table booking to attend. You can go to the fairgrounds where Oktoberfest is held, walk around the carnival, and get food and drinks from the concession stands.
There are some tents and beer gardens that don’t require bookings, either, so you can always get there early and stake out a table for the day. Whatever you choose, don’t forget to dress in proper Bavarian attire!
