Located in the Piedmont region of Italy, Alba is close to the transport links of major cities like Milan, Turin and Genoa (Genova).
A small and beautiful medieval town, Alba features some interesting historic towers and churches, and is the home of Ferrero Rocher chocolate. It also has some excellent restaurants and cafes, and pretty shopping streets.
However, most visitors come to Alba for the famous White Truffle Festival, which is what the town is best known for.
Alba’s White Truffle Festival takes place every year from early October to mid-November. The historic city center is small and accommodation can be hard to come by in the festival season, so make sure to book well in advance if you plan to visit Italy during that time.
