Vineyards in Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre’s terraced hills are covered in grape vines, and the region is known throughout Italy for its great local wine.
Cinque Terre white wine is dry and minerally. It pairs well with seafood, which makes sense given that the restaurants in the five towns are known for their excellent fish dishes.
The region also produces its own unique varietal, Sciacchetra, a sweet white dessert wine. It is worth trying while you are in the area, as it is not easy to find outside of Cinque Terre.
There are a lot of Cinque Terre wines for sale in local shops, so if you like them, make sure to pick up a few bottles to take with you when you leave.
