The winery is stunning and modern, and is shrouded in mystery and emotion just like the Sandeman brand. <\/p>\n<p>The home of Sandeman in the valley is Quinta do Seixo, which is located high on a hill overlooking the Douro River and the terraced vineyards of the region. <\/p>\n<p>The company has tasting rooms that are open year-round. No reservations are necessary, and visitors can go to the winery during opening hours all day. While there, you can pay 5 euros to go on a winery tour that includes a walk through the cellars and a video presentation about the winemaking process. If you are lucky enough to be there during the harvest, you can also see the grapes being processed.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the tour of Quinta do Seixo, you will be offered a Port tasting in a beautiful tasting room that overlooks the river and vineyards below. Several different Port wines can be sampled, giving you the chance to try a range of offerings.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a gift shop at Sandeman in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingeu.com\/western-europe\/portugal\/category\/douro-valley\">Douro Valley<\/a> if you want to pick up a few bottles to take home with you. Everything from ruby and tawny to LBV and vintage Port is on sale, in addition to Port-themed souvenirs and wine accessories.
