In 2008, Ascot Racecourse launched the annual Face of Ascot model search at Royal Ascot.

Co-sponsored by Models 1 and the Sunday Express (and later Karen Millen, House of Fraser, Moss Bros, and others) the Face of Ascot competition aimed to find a female (and later also a male) model and ambassador to represent the racecourse for one year.

On the Tuesday and Wednesday of Royal Ascot, scouts from Models 1 searched the Grandstand area to find a new female and male face that embodied the spirit of Ascot Racecourse and Royal Ascot.

At the end of the two-day search, the winners were selected to return on the Saturday of Royal Ascot for a makeover and presentation of the Face of Ascot live on the BBC.

The Face of Ascot winners represented Ascot Racecourse at events throughout the year, participated in photo shoots, and featured in Ascot’s promotional materials.

Royal Ascot Guide
Royal Ascot is the premier British horse racing and social event of the summer season, and is not to be missed by locals and visitors that want to experience a uniquely English tradition (and catch a glimpse of the Queen, of course).

The world’s best horses and jockeys compete at Royal Ascot for high stakes.

But horse racing isn’t the only thing Royal Ascot is famous for. In recent years Royal Ascot has become synonymous with fashion, particularly hats.

Women wear their most fashionable dresses and most elegant hats while models strut down the catwalk at Royal Ascot’s fashion show.
