Once Scotland’s industrial hub, Glasgow underwent a long period of decline in the twentieth century. The city has recently reinvented itself as a modern metropolis of cutting-edge architecture, inventive gastronomy, and great music.<\/p>\n

Glasgow is home to many historic monuments, including the Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow University, and the Glasgow School of Art<\/a>. More recent additions to the city skyline include the uber-contemporary Glasgow Science Centre and the Glasgow Exhibition and Conference Centre. The\u00a0Glasgow subway<\/a>\u00a0is a great way to get around to many of them.<\/p>\n

Glasgow is also home to some of the best restaurants in Scotland. The Gandolfi restaurants<\/a>, including Cafe Gandolfi, Bar Gandolfi and Gandolfi Fish, all prove that the city has made an impressive foray into the British culinary scene.<\/p>\n

Glasgow has many top hotels, including the Crowne Plaza<\/a> and many other international hotels. It can also claim its own boutique hotels, hostels, and B&Bs.<\/p>\n

Getting to and from Glasgow by plane and train is easy. \u00a0Many low-cost airlines like Ryanair<\/a> serve the city’s airports.
