The Palacio Nacional de Sintra is a royal palace located right in the heart of Sintra. It is one of the top sightseeing attractions in the town, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Beautiful on the outside and inside, the unmissable building is most notable for its twin chimneys, which are part of the palace’s kitchen.

The Palacio Nacional de Sintra has its roots in Moorish times. However, it is more notable for its later Manueline influences and the beautiful blue azulejo tiles that Portugal is known for.

The admission price for the Palacio Nacional de Sintra is 7.00 euros for adults. Concessions are available for students, children, and seniors. There is free entry on Sundays and holidays before 2pm.

The opening hours for the Palacio Nacional de Sintra are 9:30am to 5:30pm daily except for Wednesdays, when the palace is closed to visitors.
