Dates of the 65th annual 2010 Prague International Music Festival: early May – early June 2010 (exact dates TBA)
The Prague International Music Festival is an important annual event in the Czech capital.
Orchestras, singers, and performers from around the world meet in Prague each May to perform in over 50 concerts and 9 theatrical works throughout the city.
Every year the festival features competitions for two instruments. From May 7-15, 2010 there will be a violins and trumpet competition at the Prague Internaional Music Festival. In 2011 the competition will feature pianos and trombones.
The Prague International Music Festival attracts world-class acts and the city’s historic atmosphere makes it an ideal venue for the occasion.

For die-hard fans of classical music, consider combining your trip to the Prague International Music Festival with a trip to the Dresden Music Festival, which runs on almost the same dates as its Czech counterpart. Only three hours away by train, Dresden makes an easy day or overnight trip from Prague.
