Hampton Court Palace is a day trip from London that is well worth the journey. Just 30 minutes by train from Waterloo Station, Hampton Court Palace is easy to get to and located very close to the train station.

Hampton Court Palace was originally built during the Tudor period, and was home to the likes of Henry VIII, William and Mary, and George II. Today Hampton Court Palace is part Tudor-style architecture and part Baroque, making for a day-long journey through history.

Visitors to Hampton Court Palace can take a self-guided audiotour or a guided tour through the Queen's and King's State Apartments, the Georgian Rooms, the Tudor Kitchens, the Wolsey Rooms, Henry VIII's State Apartments, the Chapel Royal, and the beautiful gardens (don't forget to visit the maze if you are visiting Hampton Court Palace with children). Allow around 4 hours to see the whole of Hampton Court Palace.
