Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens in London is a large botanical garden in the southwest of the city. It is one of the most popular visitor attractions in London, and makes for a great day trip from central London.
The gardens, which are officially called the “Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew”, are famous for their large glass palm house, Princess of Wales Conservatory, Temperate House, Alpine House, stunning elevated Treetop Walkway, and rotating exhibitions like the Henry Moore Sculptures at Kew Gardens.
Kew Gardens in London is home to one of the most comprehensive collections of plant species in the world. Boasting over 1 in 8 known species, the premises are packed with flora from Africa to Asia, South America, North America, Australia, and Europe.
In addition to permanent features, there are many rotating outdoor attractions including spring daffodils and winter snowdrops. Kew Gardens is also home to four cafes, and hosts many children’s activities and seasonal events.
Kew Gardens tickets cost 13.90 GBP for adults. Children visit for free, and concessions are available for those that qualify. The gates open at 9:30am daily throughout the year. The gardens are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
