U Zeleneho Caje, or “Green Tea”, is one of the top tea houses in Prague.
Located right on Nerudova Street, the cafe is on the way from Mala Strana to Prague Castle. It is the perfect place to stop and take a break on the walk up the hill.
Several scenes from the movie Amadeus were filmed at U Zeleneho Caje, and the tea house boasts of a cozy atmosphere and wonderful pottery (you can buy some to take home!).
And don’t forget the tea and food, either. The cafe serves a wide range of teas from around the world, and pastries and light fare to go with them. Make sure to try the gingerbread or apple strudel, or the selection of sandwiches.
