One of the best ways to get from Brussels Charleroi Airport to Bruges used to be to take a bus. The city is located 150km (93 miles) from the airport, so coach transportation was easy and fast. Unfortunately, there is no longer a bus service between this airport and Bruges.
As such, the best alternative on public transportation is to take a train. When your flight arrives at Brussels South Charleroi Airport, first go to the bus ticket counter just outside of the arrivals area. There you can buy a combination bus-and-train ticket for your onward journey.
Once you have purchased your ticket, exit the terminal building and find the bus stop, which is right outside.
Take a shuttle bus to the Charleroi train station, from where you can take a train to Brussels and then change to a train to Bruges. More information on this route can be found here.
