Monet’s Gardens in Giverny
Taking a day trip from Paris to Giverny is a great way to see Monet’s gardens and the beautiful town in Normandy.
Giverny is easily accessible from Paris. To get there, you can take a train from Paris to Vernon, and then a shuttle, bus, taxi, bike, or walk to get from Vernon to Giverny.
When you go on a day trip from Paris to Giverny, there is enough to do to fill a full day, or just part of a day. Most visitors start at Monet’s gardens, which take one to two hours to visit. From there you can explore the rest of the small town.
The main street goes past the visitor center, the Museum of Impressionism in Giverny, Monet’s grave in the church cemetery, and a number of restaurants, cafes, hotels, and B&Bs.
A day trip from Paris to Giverny can also be combined with a visit to Vernon on the way there or back if you have extra time.
