Nice

When people think of Southern France, the images that come to mind usually involve late nights of partying and topless beaches. But believe it or not, family travel on the French Riviera is not only possible, but popular.

There is plenty to do on the Cote d’Azur for children of all ages, from water sports in the Mediterranean to museums and cultural attractions.

Big cities like Nice have a wide variety of places to explore, and smaller towns like Antibes have great sand beaches.

Cannes, with its long promenade and identity as a haunt for movie stars during the annual film festival, is another good place for family travel on the French Riviera. And don’t forget Monaco, where children can watch the changing of the guard at the royal palace, visit the aquarium, and go to the wax museum.
