Here’s what to do with 36 hours in Biarritz, one of the most famous French beach resort towns:
When you arrive, check into your hotel and relax before taking a walk along the seaside promenade. If it’s daytime, visit the Grande Plage, the city’s most famous beach. If it is evening, have dinner by the sea and visit the famous casino by the water.
The next morning, have breakfast at your hotel and continue exploring the coastline, from the lighthouse on one end to the famous surfing beaches on the other.
In the afternoon, find a restaurant in the city’s historic center and then do a bit of shopping. If you like surf apparel, there is plenty to be found in Biarritz.
Speaking of surfing, spend the afternoon paddling out or taking a surf lesson on the famous Cote des Basques beach. If you’re too shy to try, you can admire the surfers from the sand.
The rest of your time in Biarritz can be spent in a number of ways, from exploring the city’s small museums to sunbathing on one of the many beaches. Whatever you do, you can’t go wrong in such a beautiful place.
