Au Printemps

Just down the street from Galleries Lafayette, the Printemps department store is big enough to let you shop till you drop…or just till you get hungry. Printemps has several restaurants, including one with a great view of the building’s 1923 Art Nouveau cupola.

The quirky restaurant Le Refuge des Fondues is located in the heart of Paris’ famous Montmartre neighborhood. Near the bottom of the hill leading up to the Sacre Coeur, the restaurant is home to great fondue and wine that is served in baby bottles.

The atmosphere is lively and the crowd is young. Get there early if you don’t want to wait for a table.

Panini, Crepes, and Falafel
If you’re on a budget or don’t like long meals, there are plenty of options for great, inexpensive food in Paris.

Here are some of my favorites:

– Go for a panini from a street vendor on Boulevard St. Germain and eat in the Jardin du Luxembourg

– Get crepes on Rue Mouffetard before or after a night out in the Latin Quarter

– Buy falafel from L’As du Falafel in the Marais and picnic in the Place des Vosges

– Get gelato from one of the shops on the Ile Saint-Louis and enjoy it while admiring the views of the Notre Dame
