Trains from Dublin usually leave from either Heuston or Connolly station. Some services leave from Dublin Pearse station as well, but they are mainly local and commuter trains.

Travel Destinations
The major train travel destinations from Dublin include Cork, Killarney, Kilkenny, Limerick, Waterford, Rosslare Europort, Ennis, Belfast, Galway, Tralee, Portlaoise, Westport, Ballina, Dundalk, and Sligo. There are direct trains from Dublin to most of these destinations. For the rest, you can get there with one or two connections.

Dublin Trains
Most trains from Dublin are InterCity (IC) trains. They are usually used for longer distances, and offer comfortable seating, usually with two classes of service.

Ticket Discounts
You can get discounts on train tickets if you buy them online well in advance. Special Internet fares are available on almost all train routes from Dublin to other cities in Ireland. Other discounts are available for children, youths, and holders of farecards.
