It’s getting harder these days to find cheap flights to Portugal, but sometimes you can find amazing deals if you think outside the box.
Here are some tips for finding cheap flights to cities in Portugal:
1. Instead of flying in and out of Lisbon, fly to another city instead. Porto and Faro are served by low-cost airlines like Ryanair, which sometimes offer flights for as little as 0.01 euro.
2. Shop around. Don’t book the first ticket you find online. Make sure to visit multiple websites to find the best fares on cheap flights to Portugal. There are helpful fare compare websites around the web that will show you a calendar with flight prices for every day of the month so that you can find the cheapest fare.
3. Fly at off-peak times. Sure, it can be painful to wake up at 4am for a flight, but the early morning flights tend to be the least expensive. The same goes for the flights that arrive late at night. If you can be flexible, so can your fares.
4. Visit during the off-season. Portugal is warm for much of the year, not just in the summer. If you don’t absolutely need to wait until summer to visit Portugal, try booking a flight in March or April, or in late September or October. Cheap flights to Portugal are easier to come by in the off-season.
