The best time of year to visit Barcelona depends on why you are traveling to Spain and what your preferences for weather and crowds are.

If having good weather is your primary objective, the best time to visit is from late winter to mid-autumn. From February through October the weather is very mild and pleasant in Barcelona. Spring and autumn weather tends to hover in the 20’s C / 70’s F.

Trains from Barcelona to Paris

Trains from Barcelona to Paris are an adventurous way to travel from Spain to France when you are visiting Europe.

There are both daytime and overnight trains on this route. Day services are run by Renfe and SNCF, the Spanish and French rail companies. They have a new direct train service from Barcelona to the French capital on a high-speed rail line. The journey takes just under 6 hours and 30 minutes, and will be 5 hours and 35 minutes in the future. One-way tickets cost 59 euros on this route.

There is also a daily overnight train on this route. It is called the Elipsos trainhotel, and it offers a comfortable and convenient way to get between the cities.

The train from Barcelona to Paris leaves from Barcelona Franca train station most evenings, and arrives at Paris Gare d’Austerlitz the next morning. The journey takes 12 hours and 45 minutes.

The Elipsos trainhotel offers passengers four classes of service. One is a regular reclining seat, another is a couchette in a four-bed room, another is a private couchette in a two-bed room with a sink, and the last is a private two-bed room with an ensuite bathroom and shower.
