South Downs Way
The South Downs Way is a 100-mile trail from Winchester to Eastbourne in the UK. The path runs through beautiful English countryside, farmland, towns, villages, and cities.
Walking the South Downs Way usually takes eight days and requires walkers to stay overnight in hotels or B&Bs along the trail. The trail can be started from either end.
The route is signposted along the trail to help walkers stay on the right path. However, it is advisable to get a map of the South Downs way before you travel, as there are some parts of the trail that are not well marked. Trail maps can be purchased in bookstores or online.
For those that just want a small taste of the South Downs Way, parts of the path can be walked on a day trip to Winchester. The trail head is located on the outskirts of the city and it is easy to walk part of the path in a day.
