Burford
Burford is one of the larger towns in the Cotswolds region of England in the UK. Located close to Oxford, Burford is one of the first large towns you will reach on the way from London to the Cotswolds. As such, it makes for an ideal place to stop for lunch or a cup of tea.
Burford’s high street has no shortage of places to eat and shop. Try the Chef’s Own Beef Lasagne at The Mermaid or the Ploughman’s Lunch at Huffkins. If you go to the latter, make sure to take home some of their delicious chutneys or home-made breads, too.
Alternatively, you can window shop along the high street or visit one of the many local pubs and restaurants in Burford.
While you’re visiting, be sure to stop by the town’s church, with its tall spire that can be seen throughout Burford. Spend some time walking down the side streets to admire the old stone architecture and beautiful houses as well.
