Becherovka is a Czech herbal liqueur from Karlovy Vary, a spa town in the western part of the country.

Created in 1807 by pharmacist Jan Becher, Becherovka was originally intended for medicinal use. Over time, Becherovka, with its distinct hints of cinnamon, anise, and other herbs, made its way into social settings.

Today Karlovarská Becherovka can be found flowing in any Czech bar and can be purchased at supermarkets.
