Buses from Nice to St Paul de Vence are a good way to get from the coast to the hilltop city when you are visiting Provence.
St Paul de Vence is located 20 kilometers (12 miles) away from Nice, and the town is on a high hill above the Mediterranean. As such, train transportation is not possible between the two cities.
Bus 400 runs every 30 to 45 minutes from Nice’s Gare Routiere (main bus station). Services operate seven days a week, and buses arrive just outside of the old city walls of St Paul de Vence.
There are several stops in Nice along the way, as well as stops at coastal cities like Cagnes sur Mer. You can also take the train to Cagnes sur Mer and pick up the bus when you get there.
The bus from Nice to St Paul de Vence takes around a hour each way. Tickets can be purchased at the office at the bus station.
