Buses from Sorrento to Praiano are one of the best ways to get from one coastal town to the other when you are visiting the Amalfi Coast.

Buses depart from the Sorrento bus stop, which is located next to the wall down the steps from the train station.

Buses are run by the company SITA. Their buses are orange or blue and are comfortable and have air conditioning.

Buses leave Sorrento for Praiano around every 30 minutes on weekdays, and less frequently on weekends and holidays. Check bus schedules before you travel, as SITA departure times vary by season.

During the high season seats get taken quickly, so make sure to arrive early to get in line if you don’t want to stand. If you get car sick, make sure to sit in the front of the bus, as the roads have lots of curves.

The bus trip from Sorrento to Praiano takes 1 hour and 15 minutes on average. The journey can be shorter or longer depending on traffic.

You can purchase your tickets at the magazine shop at the train station in Sorrento. Fares are based on time, and cost 2.40 euros for 45 minutes and 3.60 euros for 90 minutes.

You can also get a 24-hour pass for 7.20 euros or a 3-day pass for 18.00 euros. They allow you unlimited journeys on SITA buses in the area as well as travel on the Circumvesuviana train, which goes to Pompeii and Naples.
