Column in Pompeii

Pompeii is a great place to visit on your way from Naples to Sorrento, or vice versa. The Circumvesuviana train between Naples and Sorrento stops in Pompeii about halfway between the two cities. As such, many people visit Pompeii at the beginning or end of their trip to the Amalfi Coast.

That means that people often have luggage with them when they arrive. The staff at the ruins know this, and have a left luggage facility at Pompeii.

The left luggage office in Pompeii is located within the museum complex. When you walk through the gates, head to the right of the ticket booths and down the ramp as if you are going to the entry turnstiles. To the right of the turnstiles is a small office for bag storage.

The left luggage office in Pompeii will take your bags and give you a ticket that you can use to collect your luggage at the end of your visit to Pompeii. The service is free of charge.

Make sure to bring your valuables with you if you use the left luggage facilities in Pompeii. There are no locks on the cupboards that bags are stored in, so it is best to keep valuable items with you as you tour Pompeii.
