Graham’s is one of the best places to go Port wine tasting in Porto. Located in Porto’s across-the-river neighbour Vila Nova de Gaia, the lodge is an easy place to walk to while you are visiting Porto.

An established name, Graham’s is home to some of the biggest Port brands in the world. These include Dow’s, Warres, and Graham’s (of course), as well as still wine labels like Altano and the exclusive Post Scriptum wines.

Graham’s is housed in a beautiful building with great views over Porto. Works are currently underway to expand the facilities and add a restaurant, larger gift shop, and Port wine museum, which should make the visitor experience even better.

Visiting Graham’s Port wine lodge is possible year-round, and there are four types of guided tours that guests can take. Three are cellar tours with tastings of three Ports at the end (3 euros and 10 euros, depending on the tasting), and the fourth is a cellar tour with a tasting of three vintage Ports paired with chocolate (30 euros). Tours are offered in English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Guides at Graham’s are knowledgable and passionate about Port wine. They take visitors through the Port making process while explaining the different types of Port and the regions where the grapes are grown in the nearby Douro Valley.

During the tour, visitors can view the lodge’s historic ledgers and bottles of vintage Port dating all the way back to the 19th century. Guides also give a slide show presentation during the tour, and there is an optional video component as well.

At the end of the tour, guests can enjoy a tasting in the large tasting room at Graham’s. It is adjacent to the gift shop, where bottles of Port, still wine, and Port-inspired souvenirs can be purchased.
