Spain has various visa and passport requirements for visitors coming from all over the world. Below is a list of the requirements for some major English-speaking countries.

Spain Visa and Passport Requirements for Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, and American Citizens
A valid passport is required. A visa is not required for a tourist / business stay of up to 90 days in Spain (90-day period begins when entering Schengen countries*). Stays exceeding 90 days do require a visa.

Spain Visa and Passport Requirements for South African Citizens
A valid passport and Schengen* visa are required for travel to Spain.

Spain Visa and Passport Requirements for UK Citizens
A valid passport is required. There is no visa requirement for passport holders endorsed British Citizen. There is a visa exemption for 90 days for passports endorsed British National (Overseas), British Overseas Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Protected Person, ‘holder is entitled to readmission into the UK’, or ‘holder has the right of abode in UK’ (the 90-day period begins when entering Schengen countries*). In all other cases, a visa is required.

*Schengen Countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
