Mathematical Bridge in Cambridge
Cambridge is a popular destination for visitors to England. While there is no shortage of things to keep you busy while you are there, here is my list of the top 5 things to do in Cambridge:
5. Visit the Cambridge Botanical Garden, conveniently located near the train station. It has a wide variety of plant species, and is particularly beautiful in the springtime.
4. Visit as many colleges at Cambridge University as you can. The architecture and history are fascinating. The most famous colleges include King’s College, Queen’s College, Trinity, and St. John’s. A visit to any or all of these colleges is most definitely one of the top things to do in Cambridge.
3. Walk along the river through The Backs and enjoy the beautiful green spaces. The gardens are peaceful and pleasant to visit at any time of year.
2. Go punting on the Cam. The traditional pastime is a great way to spend a summer afternoon in Cambridge, and punts can be hired along the river. (Note that most boat operators are closed in winter.)
1. Visit the King’s College Chapel. Dating back to 1446 when King Henry VI laid the first stone, the chapel is one of the most famous buildings at the university. The stunning fan vaulted ceiling alone is worth the entrance fee, and seeing the chapel is certainly one of the top things to do in Cambridge.
