Driving from Cardiff to Brecon Beacons is the best way to get from the capital of Wales to the beautiful national park nearby. Train transport in Wales is limited outside of major cities like Cardiff and Swansea, so getting there by car is the most sensible option.
Driving from Cardiff to Brecon Beacons only takes 35 to 40 minutes, making the trip quick and easy.
To get there, drive north out of Cardiff along Bute Park and then take the N Rd / A470 highway north until you reach Merthyr Tydfil at the southern end of Brecon Beacons National Park. You will see signs along the way directing you to your destination.
