Trail in Cornwall
Cornwall is one of the top travel destinations in southern England, and is a great place to go when you are visiting the UK. From picturesque towns to great beaches and excellent food, there is no shortage of things to keep visitors busy. To help you narrow down the choices, here is my list of the top 10 things to do in Cornwall:
1. Walk along a coastal trail – There are hundreds of miles of trails along the Cornish coast, and they offer some of the most spectacular views of the beaches and sea in the area.
2. Take a ferry or helicopter to the Isles of Scilly – The famous Scilly Isles are a great place to go when you are visiting Cornwall, and getting there by boat or helicopter is half the fun.
3. Go to a festival – Cornwall has numerous annual festivals celebrating everything from music to food.
4. Drive through the countryside – The Cornish coast and countryside offer some of the most beautiful landscapes and scenery in the UK.
5. Walk around St Ives – The charming town of St Ives has been popular with visitors for ages. Its pretty streets, great shops, and top-notch restaurants make it well worth a visit.
6. Go surfing – Places like Newquay have some of the best surfing in the UK, and should be on any surfer’s list of things to do in Cornwall.
7. Eat at one of Rick Stein’s restaurants in Padstow – Celebrity chef Rick Stein has created somewhat of a culinary empire in the lovely seaside town of Padstow. Whether you want a quick snack or a fine dining experience, he has something to offer every visitor.
8. Visit St Michael’s Mount – The UK equivalent of France’s Mont St Michel, St Michael’s Mount features a beautiful monastery atop an island off the coast. At low tide you can walk there, but at high tide it’s best to take a boat if you don’t want to swim!
9. Drive to Land’s End – The westernmost point of Britain is called Land’s End. With its visitor attractions and vista points, it is a great place to visit on any trip to Cornwall.
10. Tour the Eden Project – The Eden Project consists of three large greenhouse biomes featuring plants from all over the world. While there, visitors can learn all about different ecosystems and conservation efforts.
