The Titanic Belfast museum opened in Northern Ireland on 31 March 2012. Its opening was part of the celebrations commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s maiden voyage and fateful sinking in the Atlantic Ocean in April 1912.

The landmark building in which the museum is housed is a great work of contemporary architecture. It has a sleek design with four points on the corners that are meant to resemble the bows of ships (although some people say they resemble icebergs!).

The Titanic Belfast museum is home to all kinds of interactive multimedia experiences, including an immersive theatre experience with Robert Ballard, who discovered the remains of the ship in the Atlantic Ocean in 1985. The museum is also the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, and a great way of experiencing Belfast’s history.

In addition to the exhibits themselves, visitors can view the location where the ship was built and see one of its tenders, the SS Nomadic, in a dry dock adjacent to the building. There is also a chance to view the drawing room next to the museum where the original plans for the Titanic were created.

Throughout the year the museum hosts conferences and special events, including Christmas festivities for all ages.

Ticket prices for the Titanic Belfast museum are as follows: £13.50 for adults, £6.75 for children 5 to 16, free for children under 5. You can get a 5% discount if you buy tickets online. Group discounts and concessions are also available.
