Left Luggage
If you’re visiting the UK and want to travel around Scotland, you can leave your bags at left luggage in Glasgow Central Station to lighten your load. Whether you’re spending a day in Glasgow and don’t want to haul your heavy backpack or suitcase around with you, or you’re travelling to Edinburgh or farther away, there are a lot of options for storing your bags.
The left luggage office at Glasgow Central Station is located right by Platform 1 on the ground level of the station. It is easy to spot, as the office has a large sign above it (pictured).
Prices for bag storage range depending on how many items of luggage you store and for how long you store them. Rates start at £6.00 per item for 0 to 3 hours. For 3 to 24 hours, the rate is £8.00 per item. After 24 hours, the rate is £4.00 per item for each additional 24-hour period or part thereof. As such, it’s fairly reasonable to store your luggage for a day while you’re exploring Glasgow, or several days if you go elsewhere in Scotland and don’t want to take all of your bags with you.
Queues for left luggage can be long sometimes, so make sure to leave yourself plenty of time to store your bags if you have onward transportation to catch afterwards.
You can also ship parcels from the left luggage office in Glasgow Central Station. If you find you’ve accumulated a lot of baggage on your travels, you can always send some of it home.
