Kew Gardens
After a successful display of a number of Henry Moore’s sculptures at Kew Gardens in 2007, the Royal Botanic Gardens are bringing another of his sculptures to Kew in 2014.
From 25 September, visitors will be able to see Moore’s ‘Reclining Mother and Child’ (1975 – 76) sculpture in a peaceful area of the gardens.
The sculpture will be on display for a few years, so if you aren’t in London when it first arrives, there is still time to see it on a future visit.
History
In 2007, the Henry Moore sculptures at Kew Gardens were part of the largest outdoor exhibition of Henry Moore’s works ever seen in London.
The Moore sculptures at Kew Gardens ran through March 30, 2008 and featured 28 large-scale sculptures.
Among the sculptures on display in Kew Gardens were Large Reclining Figure (1984), Double Oval (1966), and Oval with Points (1968-70).
The Henry Moore sculptures were displayed throughout the grounds and could be visited via audiotour (downloaded on your mobile phone for 1.50GBP) or by a walking tour from Victoria Plaza in Kew Gardens.
