Spring Tulips in Istanbul
The best time to visit Istanbul depends on what you are visiting for. Some people care more about weather than anything else, while others aim to visit during the least touristy parts of the year.
If weather is your main concern, the best time to visit is in the late spring, summer, and early autumn. From April through October, the weather in Istanbul is warm to hot.
Temperatures during this time of year hover in the mid-teens to high 20’s C, or 60’s to low 80’s F. Rain is also more scarce during this period than in the wet winter months.
Spring in Istanbul is particularly beautiful because of all of the flowers that are in bloom. The tulips are particularly striking, especially if you visit the Topkapi Palace gardens.
If avoiding crowds is your main goal, the best time to visit Istanbul is in the winter. The weather will be cold and wet, but you will have most of the city’s attractions to yourself. Prices will also be lower during these months, so you can save money if you go at this time of year.
