Taking the RER from Paris to Versailles is a great way to travel from the capital to the famous palace in France.

The RER is a suburban train that stops at many of the metro stations in Paris. RER line C runs every 15 to 20 minutes from central Paris to Versailles, and is an easy and convenient way to travel.

To take the RER from Paris to Versailles, get on line C at any central Paris stop (Gare d’Austerlitz, St Michel-Notre Dame, Musee d’Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l’Alma, or Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel). Take the train to Versailles Rive-Gauche, which is the last stop for trains with headsigns starting with “V”.

When you are waiting on the platform, make sure to check signs overhead to make sure the next train goes to Versailles. Not all RER C trains stop at all stations, so it is important to check before boarding.

The journey on the RER from Paris to Versailles takes roughly 40 minutes, and tickets cost 3.25 euros one-way.

To get from the RER C station to the Palace of Versailles, exit, cross the street, turn right, and then take a left on Rue de Paris. Walk down the street to the Chateau de Versailles gates.
