Many people only make it to Dublin when they are visiting Ireland, but it’s a shame to miss out on the rest of the country. Ireland has some of the most beautiful natural landscapes and coastline in all of Europe, and it is worth a trip to see them.
As such, here is my list of the top places to visit in Ireland:
Dingle Peninsula
Located in County Kerry in southwest Ireland, the Dingle Peninsula is a mountainous stretch of land that juts 48 kilometres (30 miles) into the Atlantic Ocean. Most people visit for the stunning cliffs, beautiful beaches, and great surfing.
Cork
Cork is one of the most important cities in Ireland. Highlights include the Cork county and city halls, the church tower of Shandon, St Mary’s Cathedral, and St Finbarre’s Cathedral.
Dublin
Ireland’s capital city needs no introduction. From museums and parks to pubs and gardens, there is no shortage of things to do and see there.
Sligo
Sligo is a great place to visit in the north of the country. From cultural sites like Sligo Abbey and Dolly’s Cottage to great markets and outdoor adventure travel opportunities, the area has a diverse range of attractions.
