York Minster
York is a historic town in the north of England. Founded by the Romans and at times run by Saxons and Vikings, today York has a beautiful walled city that is most famous for its stunning cathedral, the York Minster.
York offers many sightseeing opportunities, historical and cultural activities, great restaurants, museums, attractions, and shopping.
Visitors to York can take bus tours on City Sightseeing buses, boat tours on the River Ouse, and guided city walks (including the famous Ghost Tours at night) in order to get to know the city of York. There is also a self-guided walk along the city walls that is not to be missed.
York is an easy day trip from London and is very accessible by train from London’s King’s Cross train station.
Visitors can spend a day exploring the city, or extend their trip by bus, train, or car to cover neighbouring Leeds, Harrogate, or other destinations in Yorkshire.
