We’ve all been there. Waiting for a train and needing a pub to sit in while we do. The good news is that England’s train stations have some great local pubs. From traditional to contemporary, classic pubs to champagne bars, there is a wide variety of watering holes to choose from. Rather than sit in a cramped waiting room or stand on a cold platform, head to a pub and warm your feet as you down your pint.

From homesick Americans to adventurous locals, many people find themselves in search of the best brunch in London while in the UK capital.

The good news is that London has no shortage of great restaurants and cafes that offer brunch in various forms. Many are American-inspired, but some have their own twist on the traditional fare, making for excellent inventive cuisine. Here is my list of the top 5 brunch places in London.

The Modern Pantry
One of London’s most beloved brunch venues is the Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell. Set back from the street in a little courtyard, the restaurant has great food and pretty interiors to match. The menu features a wide range of inventive options, from raspberry-and-ricotta pancakes to sweetcorn-and-curry waffles.

The Providores
Kiwi chef Peter Gordon creates some of the most original and unique brunch menu items in London at his Marylebone restaurant, The Providores. Inspired by food from all over the world, Gordon’s ever-changing menu offers everything from celeriac and confit garlic tortilla to grilled chorizo with sweet potato and miso hash. For a more casual brunch, try the Tapa Room on the ground floor.

Kopapa
Another of Peter Gordon’s restaurants, Kopapa is conveniently located in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials area. The light, bright dining room is the perfect place to have a chorizo and black olive muffin or go big with a plate of ricotta fritters with avocado, pomegranate salad, and pistachio caramel sauce. Don’t forget to have a coffee, either. They do it well!

Christopher’s
For a classic American brunch in a more formal setting, Cristopher’s in Covent Garden is hard to beat. The beautiful dining room is a great place to have eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and other traditional brunch fare.

Bunga Bunga
For those that want a party with their brunch, Bunga Bunga in Battersea is hard to beat. Its famous prosecco brunches last all afternoon, and feature live entertainment, karaoke, and all kinds of food and fun.
