London has no shortage of places to drink, from cozy pubs to high-end clubs. But cocktail bars are some of the best places to enjoy London’s nightlife, and there is no shortage to be found in the city.

Here is my list of the best cocktail bars in London:

Zetter Townhouse Bar
Address: 49-50 St John’s Square, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 4JJ
The chic Zetter Townhouse Bar is tucked away off a main street in Clerkenwell. The cozy space has an elegant and exclusive feel, and the cocktails are as inventive as the decor. Don’t miss the games rooms downstairs.

69 Colebrooke Row
Address: 69 Colebrooke Row, Angel, London N1 8AA
One of the smallest cocktail bars in London, 69 Colebrooke Row is nonetheless a beloved institution in Angel. Famous for its mixology and hip ambiance, it is best to arrive early if you want to get a seat.

Experimental Cocktail Club
Address: 13a Gerrard Street, Soho, London W1D 5PS
The Experimental Cocktail Club, or ECC as the locals call it, is one of the best cocktail bars in London. Hidden upstairs on a busy pedestrian street in Chinatown, most people walk by without ever knowing it is there. But once inside, it is a riot of music, drinks, and entertainment. Get there early to avoid the cover charge.

Booking Office Bar
Address: St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel, Euston Road, King’s Cross, London, NW1 2AR
The Booking Office Bar in the St Pancras Renaissance hotel is one of the most beautiful cocktail bars in the city. Guests can enjoy creative punch cocktails while admiring the beautiful historic surroundings of the Grade I listed building.

Evans & Peel Detective Agency
Address: 310c Earl’s Court Road, Earl’s Court, London SW5 9AQ
Hidden away behind an unmarked door in Earl’s Court is a speakeasy called Evans & Peel Detective Agency. Famous for its quirky door policy (they actually interrogate you as to why you are there!), the cocktails and clandestine atmosphere make it a great place to spend an evening. Reservations essential.

Dukes Bar
Address: Dukes Hotel, 35 St James’s Place, St James’s, London SW1A 1NY
The legendary martinis at Dukes Bar in St James’s make it one of the best cocktail bars in London. Visitors from all over the world come to Dukes to sample the signature cocktail, and locals love it as a place to get away from the crowds around Piccadilly Circus. Don’t go too late, as the bar closes to non-hotel guests at 11pm.
